Southern Alberta’s Premiere Culinary Event

Registration Now Open for the 2016 Sunshine Skillet Food Festival!

The Sunshine Skillet Food Festival in Medicine Hat, Alberta, is an exciting culinary event for foodies and families alike that feature a Progressive Supper, live cooking competition, Farmer’s Market, and the popular Sunset Dinner. The competition takes place Saturday May 14th during the first farmers’ market of the season. The Sunshine Skillet celebrates regional food and offers something for both foodies and families alike.

Professional chefs and home cooks will battle it out on Saturday, May 14th alongside the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede’s first farmers’ market of the season. Utilizing Mystery Basket ingredients, only two pots, one burner and 30 minutes to prepare their best dish, competitors will look to impress the panel of celebrity judges who will award the final Top Chef with a $1,000.00 Grand Prize including a ticket to compete in the Canadian Food Championships in Edmonton this June.

The Sunshine Skillet Food Festival weekend kicks off Friday night (May 13th) with a unique dine-around experience, and ends Saturday (May 14th) evening with a five-course gourmet meal created by a local chef collaboration - all served up in a truly signature Medicine Hat location. Using regionally sourced food items and accompanied with wine pairings, the Sunset Dinner is a truly unforgettable experience.

Congratulations to the 2015 Winners!
